The new trailer for Asif Kapadia’s documentary Amy has just spilled onto the internet forcing us all to remember what happens when you love alcohol a little TOO much. The documentary will focus on the troubled life of singer Amy Winehouse and her battles with fame, alcohol and mental illness.

Songs from the album Back to Black play eerily in the background while we are shown archive footage of Amy pre-beehive in her hometown of Camden. Director Asif Kapadia will take us back to the star’s childhood in north London up until her inevitable death at the age of just 27.

“I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous,” Winehouse utters when talking about singing. With this kind of insight she did not become a psychic but she did become a star.

Amy is released in the UK on 3 July.
