5 Bands To Watch At Camden Rocks
Camden Rocks Festival has turned itself into a ’70s punk exhibition this year with real life punks. As always, Camden is playing host to a number of sub-genres of rock from the awful to the down-right ugly. But, like sifting through a second hand vinyl shop, there are some real gems to be discovered. Here’s who we think you should be watching.
Screaming Eagles
These Northern Irish newcomers have been tearing up the UK circuit as well as a number of sold out shows in Berlin. Screaming Eagles have an old school rock ‘n’ roll sound that reminds us of AC/DC, Airbourne and a sprinkling of Guns ‘n’ Roses. If their 2014 debut From The Flames is anything to go by, this band packs a punch.

Anti Nowhere League
The ’80s punk band Anti League Nowhere are thrusting their way into the line up. We’re hoping to hear tracks from We Are…The League– an English punk treasure. Expect heavy punk, mayhem and a lot of carousing.
The Underworld 4.30pm
The Professionals
The brainchild of Steve Jones and Peter Cook formed after their exit from the Sex Pistols in 1979. Even though Steve Jones hasn’t rejoined the band, this is still a great opportunity to hear classic songs like “1 2 3” live with the new material from the upcoming album.

Ruts DC
Another oldie, 1979 reggae inspired Ruts DC will be most remembered for their hit “Babylon’s Burning”. The band are still pushing their agenda long after the death of singer Malcolm Owen in 1980. The band have recently released a record last year titled Music Must Destroy which is full of some great fresh political stompers but they may have lost a little of their punk style in the process.
The Underworld 7.30pm
The Damned
If you haven’t already ran out of energy, The Damned are waiting for you in the Electric Ballroom with the headline slot. Though the band have been through numerous line up changes, original singer Dave Vanian and guitarist Captain Sensible still front and stay true to their roots and signature look.
