Wank Bank #30

August 1, 2015

This week we’re loving BBQs, Beer Festivals and Comedy. Grab the tissues and start reading what The Carouser is boning over in Wank Bank #30.

Don’t know where to get your kicks? Check out our list of favourite rock bars in London here.

Bar: Last week we literally died and went to absinthe heaven. If you like this lucid green substance, then The Bonneville is the place for you. Antique-style challises and mystic smoky toilets; it’s the perfect place to chase the green fairy in an murky vintage setting.

Event: It’s Great British Fest time again and we’re about to get our beer on. Over 350 beers are to be featuring this year across 27 bars, filling the bellies of many beer hungry men. Find out what we got up to last year here.

Food: A new meaty branch of Red’s True BBQ has opened in Shoreditch. Expect stacks of beef and doughnut burgers. If you don’t fancy rolling out of bed, these beauts do take-out. We’re salivating at the thought of it.

Drink: Those pesky rascals at London Fields Brewery are launching an “Easy IPA” on Wednesday 5th August at The Brewhouse. Boasting of historic Indian recipes and specially picked hops, this IPA is hopefully as beautiful as it sounds.

Music: Known for his time in Rock Of Ages and playing the guitar in White Snake, Joel Hoekstra has announced the release of his new hard rock album Dying To Live on Friday October 16th. The album features rock stars Jeff Scott Soto, Russell Allen and more. This is definitely one to check out.

Film: Amy Schumer has been making waves with her “slutty” humour so with her new movie Trainwreck, the world will get to see what this blonde haired American can do. It’s a story following a modern girl who doesn’t believe in monogamy, switching up the classic rom-com traits usually cast for a man. We hope all the punch lines aren’t just in the trailer.
