July 30, 2015
Janis Joplin is to be forever immortalized in an upcoming documentary movie about her life. Director Amy Berg’s Janis was chosen to premier at the Venice Film Festival in September.
The soundtrack will include classic tracks like Piece Of My Heart and Cry Baby. It will also feature Cat Power voicing Janis’ personal letters to accompany footage from festivals like Woodstock ’69. It took 7 years to make and shares the story of the late Janis Joplin’s life up until the point where she died at the age of 27 from an overdose on drugs.
The Janis Joplin documentary follows other releases on other 27 club members like Amy and Montage of Heck and is hoping to be available worldwide.
