Glenn Hughes Announces A Classic Deep Purple Set

January 12, 2018

Glenn Hughes has been announced as Steelhouse Festival’s Saturday Night headliner.

Hughs will be performing a ‘Classic Deep Purple – Live’ set for the UK Festival in Wales. The entire set will be comprised of Deep Purple classics, including tracks from Burn, Stormbringer and Come Taste The Band. The curly haired bassist & vocalist was a part of the MK III and MK IV line-up of Deep Purple.

Talking about the set, Glenn Hughes said, ‘‘I’m incredibly excited to get out there and play tracks like Burn, Mistreated, Stormbringer and Getting Tighter, as well as some of those older songs that helped define the genre. With this band, I can assure you of a concert that’ll blow your mind.

“I’m really looking forward to this…Come see me up the Mountain…Peace, love and remember, music is The Healer’.

This will be the first time that Glenn Hughes has performed an entire set of Deep Purple classics. With his interesting vocal style, Hughes has been dubbed ‘The Voice Of Rock’ and has done well as a solo performer with a few shows last year.

Promoters Mikey Evans and Max Rhead said, “We literally cannot believe that we can announce that Glenn Hughes – the voice of rock – will make his Steelhouse Festival debut playing the classic songs of Deep Purple. This is a truly mind-blowing announcement for us.”

Glenn Hughes will be joined by Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, Black Star Riders and much more on the 27th-29th July for the 8th Steelhouse Festival. Find more information on their official website.
