Bowie’s Heroes Celebrates 40th Anniversary

July 19, 2017

David Bowie’s iconic track “Heroes” turns 40 years old.

To celebrate the track’s birthday, there will be a limited edition 7″ picture disc on Parlophone.

“Heroes” was originally released on 23rd of September 1977. It was the first single and title track of the second album of the ‘Berlin Trilogy’. The song became a world wide hit and was recorded in English, French and German. It’s also one of his most covered songs by famous artists such as King Crimson, Prince, Blondie and many more.

Bowie first public performance this song was on Marc Bolan’s ‘Marc’ ITV show on the 7th of September ’77. The AA of this limited edition release will contain a previously unreleased recording of that performance. It became such a touching performance due to Marc being killed in a car accident shortly after filming. See below for full track-listing.
