There’s A New Kat In Town
A new bar called BeerKat is set to open in Holloway Road this month with a promising amount of booze, music and events.
But this is no ordinary bar. BeerKat is a venue that will host a different brewery pop-up each month -a concept thought up by The Laine Pub Company. The free entry bar will open between Thursday to Sunday every week to ensure you’re never stuck for beer or live music on the weekends.
Laine’s operations director Dan Hills says, “Live music is an important part of the BeerKat’s entertainment offer. The Holloway Road site was once an excellent gig venue and we wanted to again see bands playing in the fabulous tiered gallery.”
The first brewery to “takeover” the former 12 Bar venue is none other than Beavertown Brewery. They will be showcasing 18 of their craft beers and a melange of Beavertown-style nights.
“One of the things we believe in most, is communicating our passion for what we do, directly to our drinkers.” says Beavertown’s events manager Sam Milliard, “That’s why events are important to us. So when Laine’s approached us to take up a month’s residency at The Beerkat, we jumped at the chance. All the characters and personalities involved in making Beavertown beer will be there to meet our customers face-to-face and talk about what we all love.”
BeerKat is already in discussions with other Breweries to join in on the fun. The launch takes place on the 26th May with the “We Are Beavertown” opening party. We hope to see you there!
