Wank Bank #36

January 8, 2016

This week we’re loving eating History lessons, Yeast and Beer Miles. Grab the tissues and start reading what The Carouser is boning over in Wank Bank #36.

Don’t know where to get your kicks? Check out our list of favourite rock bars in London here.

Event: This weekend, get your beer on with the Bermondsey Beer Mile. South East London is home to many breweries including Partizan, Brew By Numbers, Fourpure Brewing, The Kernel, Bullfinch Brewery and Anspach & Hobsday. If you don’t fancy organising yourself, The Londonist are offering a tour this Saturday with all drinks included. NOM.

Drink: We’ve successfully been plunged into the Australasian alcohol scene in a big way recently (expect more Aussie interesting reviews soon) and it all began with Yeastie Boys‘ Gunnamatta beer. Although it might sound like a genital infection, it tastes awesome, especially if you like tea. An iced tea style blend of citrus and sheer hoppy goodness. We’re hoping to try more from their collection on our journey through beers down under.

TV: Nothing bores us more than learning about the History of this land unless it involves loincloths and really big swords. But the Comedy channel are back on the 11th with a brand new show of Drunk History. Grab a glass of whatever the fuck you want and listen to a bunch of comedians including Rob Beckett, Kerry Howard and James Ancaster retell stories, drunk.

Music: Also on the 11th, former UFO guitarist Michael Schenker will be releasing his new double A-side single Rock City in light of his new nationwide UK tour that will be commencing this month.  He’ll be performing all the tracks from his Temple of Rock album amongst  UFO, MSG and Scorpions classics. Tickets will be available here.
