Get Duffed: Simpson’s Beer To Be Brewed
The Simpson’s Duff Beer is to be officially brewed by the production company behind the show.
Fox has finally decided to prepare their own batch of Duff Beer to be made available in South America and eventually, all over the world. Though you may have seen cheap knock off versions, Fox has decided to take action and make their own. For years they had been fighting against the continued illegal use of the Duff Beer name.
Fox boss Jeffrey Godsick told Wall Street Journal: “Once you see enough piracy, you’re faced with two choices – one is deciding to fight, and the other is deciding to go out into the market with it. I think there’s potential to have Duff everywhere in world.”
In 2011, bassist Duff McKagan (Guns n’ Roses/Velvet Revolver) revealed that the animated beer had been named after him. He was asked in 1988 for his name to be used after being known as an ultimate carouser but didn’t receive any royalties when the show became popular.
The “premium lager with a caramel aromatic” recipe has been concocted by a British brewmaster called Paul Farnsworth and is to be an exact replica of the cartoon drink. It’s primarily being released in Chile where the fake versions of the beer are most rife.
We hope this is followed up with a crotch-thrusting Duffman and a trip to Duff Gardens.
