Diary: September 2016
It’s the start of a new term and I have began to see the words ‘Back To School” emblazoned on every stationary shop window. It means a fresh start as the leaves begin to change colour and bring with it a new menu of food. I am always full of hope for a new September. Hope for more sun that August has failed to bring us and hope for a stronger focus on my passion – writing.
This month I have planned to finish all the articles I need for the next issue of The Carouser, to find a sponsor for the event I’m planning and to write at least 100 words a day. 100 words a day doesn’t seem too hard but you know, some times it’s hard to lift a finger when you feel like a rotten tomato.
Next month, I will be heading back to Spanish soil for my favourite city of Barcelona. So I need to brush up on my Spanish and learn to dance the flamenco. Well, perhaps not the dancing part but I will use my Duolingo app as I need a little refresher of the language.
September brings with it one of my favourite fruits – fig. Figs are now officially in season and I will be attempting this recipe of a Gluten free fig tart. So many gorgeous fruits are now popping up as the leaves begin to fall, but I wave a sad goodbye to the cherries of summer.
I’m sure much more will happen on my journey through September so don’t forget to follow me on my social media channels. Till then, here’s a list of all the seasonal food of September. What will you be making?
