Public Image Ltd Celebrate 40 Years

February 23, 2018

40 years have passed since John Lydon left the Sex Pistols and formed Public Image Limited with guitarist Keith Levene (The Clash), bassist Jah Wobble and drummer Jim Walker. Though the line up has since changed, John Lydon still remains the face and tour de force of the band.

Their debut album Public Image: First Issue came out in the same year of 1978. The songs varied in quality due to them running out of money but the record was adored by music fans.

In 2018, PiL are still going strong and have announced an anniversary tour along with a new documentary and box set. The tour sees the band crusading their way across the UK, Europe and Japan. See the tour dates below.

Their new documentary The Public Image is Rotten follows the band through their lifespan, as told through the voice of the ever-compelling John Lydon. The film is to be released in theatres later this year along with a new box set.
